Of Rain and Sunshine

The tears do turn the skies dark grey
Still dripping down the dreary day
The pat-pat-patter sounds around,
And glistens, splatters on the ground.
.
And patiently subdued sits she,
The Sun who rests while rock and tree
Are cleansed of grime without delay
On this, a dark and gloomy day.
.
The billows have self-conscious gleams
See there! Far beyond rainy streams
A prick of light is growing fast,
It curls round floating mountains vast.
.
Do look and laugh with cheery grin
Upon the farce, façade, and din.
Mischievous smiles attempt to hide
Behind the clouds where sunbeams stride.

Wow, I had to look outside to see if it was really raining after reading this one!
